Whether you are a concerned adult or a child, you can dial 1098, the toll free number to access the service. CHILDLINE not only responds to the emergency needs of children but also links them to services for their long-term care and rehabilitation.
Divya Disha has a long association with CHILDLINE. We are the collab organization for Hyderabad CHILDLINE, the collab organization for Railway CHILDLINE, Secunderabad and the nodal agency for CHILDLINE Medak.
CHILDLINE Se Dosti Week
CHILDLINE Se Dosti is a week-long campaign from the 14th of November to 20th November. It aims at making friends (‘Dosts’) for CHILDLINE. The idea is to not only to spread awareness about the work done by CHILDLINE but to make more and more people aware of child rights, child sexual abuse and the need for child protection.
This year, we had a very busy and eventful week. Important aspects of the week’s events were:
Tying of Suraksha Bandhan (protection wrist band)
This was tied to elected officials, Government officials, Railway and Police officials. The tying of these Suraksha Bandhans signifies our appreciation of their support towards child rights and protection and their continued commitment to the cause.
Release of CHILDLINE and POCSO posters
Release of the CHILDLINE and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) posters by various officials in public places. These are meant to create awareness about the Act and about the service.
Rallies by children
Rallies were organized where children marched on the roads raising slogans and waving placards to bring awareness about their rights and CHILDLINE’s services.
Awareness in Schools
To increase awareness about their rights among children essay competitions were held, information shared, signature campaigns and oath taking ceremonies conducted.
Signature campaigns
Banners were displayed at public places and various officials and the members of public were invited to sign to confirm their ‘dosti’ (friendship) with CHILDLINE.
CHILDLINE with Dosti week is over, but our commitment to the protection of children continues.
